While growing up in the film industry,
Oliver Hudson developed a passion for all facets of filmmaking. At
the early age of ten, Hudson and his best friend would shoot, act
in, and screen their own short films.
With a desire to jump-start his film career, Hudson began working
as a Production Assistant on the film "Father's Day,"
followed by "Conspiracy Theory." Although he enjoyed working
on both films, Hudson was still starved for the creative aspect
of filmmaking. He began taking film classes at USC that led to the
creation of a 10-minute short film, which he wrote and directed.
At the same time, a modeling agent spotted Hudson and started sending
him out on theatrical auditions. Hudson developed a passion for
the craft, and shortly thereafter, he stopped modeling and began
to act professionally.
On television, he is currently starring in the WB series, "The
Young Person's Guide to Becoming a Rock Star." The show follows
the path of a young musician, portrayed by Hudson, and chronicles
the rise of a young rock band.
His upcoming features include Zoë Clarke-Williams' "Mary
Jane's Last Dance" with Dominique Swain and Justin Zackham's
"Going Greek."
Hudson's feature film credits include the "Out of Towners"
with Goldie Hawn and Steve Martin, "Kill The Man" with
Luke Wilson and "The Smokers" with Dominique Swain.
Hudson recently formed his own production company, Workshed, which
will develop film and television projects. Workshed is a division
of Cosmic Entertainment, a family business formed by Oliver along
with his mother, Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell and sister Kate Hudson.
